Of all the items of clothing, footwear is the only one that does not follow the usual cleaning and maintenance canons that we usually give to the rest of the accessories that we use in clothing, although perhaps it is the component that, by not keeping it in perfect condition, causes us the most signs of neglect. The continued use of a pair of shoes causes a certain temperature and humidity in them that will determine their life, as well as being able to affect the health of the foot, especially if we use the same footwear for the different activities of our daily life instead of using the appropriate footwear for each one of them.

Of all the items of clothing, footwear is the only one that does not follow the usual canons of cleaning and maintenance that we usually give to the rest of the accessories that we use in clothing, although perhaps it is the component that, by not wearing it in perfect condition, causes us the most signs of neglect. The continued use of a pair of shoes causes a certain temperature and humidity in them that will determine their life, as well as it can also affect the health of the foot, especially if we use the same footwear for the different activities of our daily life instead of using the appropriate footwear for each one of them. With this, what we achieve is that the shoe does not get enough oxygen and ends up causing bad smells and thus affecting the wear and tear of the shoe and the health of our feet.

If we want to extend the useful life of our shoes, we must constantly maintain them, even more than any other item of clothing we wear, since they are the ones that suffer the most during use. For proper preservation, it is essential to take into account the material from which the footwear is made. Leather shoes are not the same as sports shoes, although both need to be aired to eliminate the microclimate they generate after prolonged use. In leather shoes, the most commonly used, it is advisable to remove the dirt generated with some frequency. This should be done either with a dry cloth or a soft brush and then apply a layer of grease to keep them hydrated and flexible at the most inflection points, so that they maintain a healthy appearance for longer and do not end up cracking. Sometimes it is also advisable to apply dyes that help maintain the color and give them a newer appearance. Another important aspect to take into account is the sensitivity of the skin to heat, so it is advisable to avoid exposure to high temperatures or proximity to heat sources that can weaken the footwear.

As we have previously mentioned, the continued use of the same shoes, as well as not using suitable shoes for each activity and their lack of maintenance will have a direct impact on the useful life of any shoe. To achieve greater durability and to continue to maintain a more optimal appearance, it is advisable to use them less frequently and alternate them if possible. It is believed that continued use of the same shoe can cause stress, as well as injuries such as athlete's foot among others. This prolonged use will cause sweating that will affect both the health of the foot and the shoe itself. Foot sweating is the condition that can bother us the most, and can cause fungi, germs and other bacteria, for which there are countless products on the market with which we can eliminate these problems, deodorants for both feet and different footwear, easy to apply and proven effective.

Choosing the right footwear for each activity is the most advisable thing to do. To do this, it is important to know how to choose it based on the activity to be carried out and taking into account the material of the footwear and without forgetting the needs of our feet. Keeping the footwear clean, ventilated, and applying the right product will ensure a longer useful life for our footwear and, above all, keep our feet healthy.

When choosing shoes, we tend to be carried away by the design, colour or anything else that seems desirable to us, but we must always keep in mind that what is beautiful is not always the best for our feet. Therefore, we encourage you to choose accordingly to the use that we are going to give them and taking into account comfortable and flexible materials that will not hurt our feet.
