How do we make our shoes?

Our company is specialized in luxury, handmade and personalized footwear. Many people value handmade products and give them the attention they deserve, but unfortunately in the world of rush and low cost, it is increasingly difficult for exclusive and personalized quality work to have the value it deserves. In this article, we intend to provide the keys that make our brand stand out for its quality.

To begin with, we must focus on our town. Footwear is one of the largest industries in Valverde del Camino, a town in the province of Huelva with a long history in the industry. This town became industrialised during the peak of the Riotinto Mine, since, due to its proximity, the English who ran the mine decided to set up factories there to supply their region with everything it needed, the two most important industries being footwear and furniture. With the closure of the mines and the departure of the English, many companies closed in our town, but these two industries continued to supply the entire province and became increasingly famous, solely due to the quality of the products they manufactured.

This is where our history as a company comes into play. After many years of experience, we can now be sure that we offer quality products, unique pieces, and we can even consider them as small works of art.

To achieve these features we follow a costly and well-planned process:

We start with the design.

Design is a part that we pay great attention to, since, for us, fashion is something vital in the footwear industry. Our designers are experts in fashion and also make sure that the structure of the shoe is in accordance with the anatomy of the foot, to make our designs useful, comfortable and spectacular.

The maxim that we follow at José de Mora with regard to design is to seek elegance, which is why in our collections we never forget the classics, but rather we start from them by adding renewed touches, but without ever losing their essence.

Secondly, we choose the material

The importance of the material is greater than we can think, since depending on how moldable or fragile the fabrics are, we can allow ourselves or not to make certain designs.

But above all, we must consider that the quality of the materials will influence, apart from the aesthetic level, the comfort and health of the feet. Good materials allow transpiration and prevent bad odours and our feet from sweating.

Feet appreciate organic materials and we take this into account in our company.

The third step is cutting:

Capturing the design on the chosen material and cutting it is where we really begin to manufacture the shoe itself.

We must cut the leather and the linings, taking care to ensure that the cuts are perfect and that they match up millimetrically so as not to have problems later. Once we have checked the errors, we must introduce them into the moulding machine, where the errors will be rectified and the edges of the leather will be smoothed to facilitate later assembly.

Parts section

The assembly is the assembly of pieces of leather. In this step, the fillings or drawings relevant to the design are first made. Then, the pieces are joined together using stitches and piping.

At this point, the machinery used is very important, since the seams will be responsible for the shoe having greater durability and looking perfect.

Our team includes highly experienced hands and we try to offer you the latest technologies to make your work easier, although they will never be essential as we are committed to handmade footwear, convinced that it offers better features and qualities.

Ending

The end of the manufacturing process consists of placing the sole, and then inserting the last that will help us shape the back and front of our shoe.

Once we have created this chain, the shoe is ready for distribution either from our physical store or our online store, since our products are increasingly reaching more remote places in the world.
