What does your footwear say about you?
Footwear is an essential element of any person's clothing. As well as being one of the most functional items, it is also one of those that say the most about us. The choice of footwear indicates to others, to a certain extent, our social status and our social group, our way of facing our daily life and especially on occasions when social events occur and especially in work environments, especially when we have to attend business meetings, etc.
The importance of footwear can be traced back to the times of Ancient Egypt, where it was a distinctive symbol of civilization, as opposed to “barbarian” peoples.
Obviously, it is not the footwear that will tell us who we are, nor can we draw conclusions about a person just from the footwear they wear, but in a society like ours where image is so important, the first impression we give to a person we have just met or to people who see us for the first time depends on a careful aspect in which clothing is fundamental. In this way, footwear can give others an idea, as we have said, of our social origin, our economic status and such important features of our being, such as our tastes or our personality.
