There is no doubt that the most important thing about our footwear should be its comfort. This universal truth may seem obvious, but it is not.

Let's take an example of a situation that has happened to all of us at some point. We have all seen some beautiful shoes in a shop window, and despite trying them on in the shop and finding that they hurt when we walked, we have ended up at home with the happy idea of breaking them in so that they don't hurt. This is one of those mistakes that we should avoid, since good shoes should never bother us, not even when we try them on in the shop, because if we didn't feel comfortable just after that short walk, we can imagine what will happen if we want to attend an event with them.

In the following article we are going to offer some tips for choosing comfortable footwear.

Choose the moment

The first thing we should ask ourselves is what we are going to use that footwear for, since depending on the activity we are going to do, one footwear or another may be more useful to us.

When practicing a sport, we will normally look for extreme comfort, but comfort is not only provided by footwear, since we must look at the type of sole, so that it grips the ground well, also the cushioning, if it is an impact sport, or take into account the support of the foot, so we should not try to look for an all-terrain shoe, we must choose a specific one for each discipline.

If you are looking for work shoes, you will usually need more formal footwear. If you are a woman, a shoe with a slight wedge or heel will be a very good option if you work many hours standing, to protect your back. And if you are a man, the more classic models, such as Oxfords for example, have a rather elegant and comfortable shape for a long day at work.

On the other hand, we have shoes for special occasions, these are the ones that normally make us doubt more between choosing comfort or design, but today we do not have to choose, we must look for footwear that really offers us these two characteristics, always looking for a formal look, with a high heel for women and a good court shoe for men.

Pay attention to the materials

Although it is becoming more and more common, there are still many people who do not pay attention to the materials used in their shoes. The material is one of the aspects that will most determine the comfort of the shoes.

It is very important to look at the composition of the sole, looking for adherent materials that prevent us from slipping. For this reason, rubber soles are advisable, which provide great support and a safe step. We must also give the importance it deserves to the inner material, with leather being recommended, as it allows perspiration, preventing excessive sweating and ensuring that our feet are healthy, comfortable and fresh.

The outer material does not have to be leather, nowadays there are many materials that can offer us an elegant appearance and characteristics similar to those of leather, but we must look for a quality material, because if it is not, our footwear will very quickly look old and worn.

Invest in quality

After clarifying these two premises, it is nothing new to say that cheap sometimes ends up being expensive, buying quality footwear is not an expense, it is an investment. To make a quality shoe, quality materials are used, and the designs are based on the anatomy of the foot, achieving greater comfort in the step and so that the foot does not suffer as much.

We cannot deny that the footwear industry must be attached to fashion at all times, but there are many companies that only focus on design and forget about comfort and materials. Therefore, we encourage you to be responsible consumers and to value a job well done.
