Every year, around this time, there are pilgrimages and fairs, which, especially in Andalusia, invite us to show off the wonderful flamenco dresses or dress up.<\/p>\n
There are many people who still have some doubts about the most appropriate clothing for each of these events, so we have created this short post, where we hope to clarify it.<\/p>\n
Men's clothing<\/strong><\/p>\n The fair is a time when you can dress in shorts and still look elegant and traditional, or you can opt for a good suit, which is still appropriate for the occasion and is much more comfortable for many men.<\/p>\n The case of pilgrimages is different, since comfort is sought for the journey, or even camping in the middle of the pine forests. For this reason, a suit is not suitable for this. In these cases, a short suit is without a doubt the best choice, although many pilgrims opt for jeans and white shirts. We cannot say that these garments are not correct, but they are not elegant and whenever possible, traditional clothing should be worn.<\/p>\n As regards footwear, suits should be paired with elegant footwear, such as Oxford shoes, for example. In all other cases, it is essential to wear cowboy boots, or as they are often called, \u201cbotos\u201d. The best place to buy quality boots is a small town in the province of Huelva, called Valverde del Camino, where the footwear industry has been present and developing for many years, always offering great quality.<\/p>\n Women's clothing<\/strong><\/p>\n As has been made clear before at the pilgrimage, comfort is sought to a greater degree, and at the fair, elegance is usually the most important thing.<\/p>\n In both cases, a flamenco dress is usually the best option, but there are some exceptions that should be mentioned. Dresses with lots of flounces are more appropriate for the fair, as they are too heavy to walk along. Baskets, however, are more appropriate for the paths, due to their weight and freshness. Despite this, they are becoming more and more fashionable, and are also used at fairs.<\/p>\n Horse riding outfits are usually only used when riding a horse, as they are designed to make it easier for women to ride without having to wear a real short outfit.<\/p>\n Returning to the topic of footwear, we can choose between three main options: heels, coloured esparto shoes or rociero boots.<\/p>\n To begin with, it should be noted that heels are only suitable for the fair, and for a flamenco dress. However, esparto shoes are also widely used, both at fairs and pilgrimages, as they offer greater comfort without completely losing the advantage of the heel. On the other hand, we have cowboy boots, which do not manage to stylize the figure, but offer incomparable comfort, which is why they are usually the most chosen at pilgrimages, although to be fair, they are used with any type of dress at fairs as well.
