The oldest information we know about the excellence of our countrymen comes from Manuel Montero Asnero, a Valverde native who was the first craftsman to participate in the International Exhibition in Vienna in 1873 and managed to win the prize for the best women's shoe with a hollowed-out sole heel in three Solomonic columns, whose bases form the firm top and the seat the back. The pattern was cut, trimmed and made by himself. Although he was the first, he was not the only one to stand out, but at this time, this guarantee \u00a0<\/p>\n

On May 14, the Minister of Employment and Social Security, F\u00e1tima B\u00e1\u00f1ez, visited the city to present the Valverde del Camino footwear quality guarantee brand. The minister did not hesitate to highlight that Huelva was the province with the highest growth in permanent employment in Spain last year. Today, it has 240,000 members, recording one of the best figures in its history.<\/p>\n

But without a doubt, Valverde has played a very important role in this process, as it has been the second industrial focus for a decade. This is due, on the one hand, to the fact that the footwear industry has already recovered 981% of the jobs lost during the crisis, and on the other hand, to the entrepreneurial spirit of the town, which has ensured that, generation after generation, local companies have not declined.<\/p>\n

The Valverde footwear industry produces 400,000 pairs a year and has a turnover of around 25 million euros. These figures only reflect the effort that manufacturers put into the excellence of their products, paying attention to the designs, finishes and materials. \u00a0<\/p>\n

At our company we try to combine tradition, fashion and technology, as we work with the best shoemakers who retouch and take care that our shoes meet the pre-established characteristics and stitch in a traditional way parts that otherwise could not offer the same guarantee. On the other hand, we use technology to achieve a precision that the human hand cannot reach. Finally, we highlight the design as another of our basic pillars, since footwear is fashion, and therefore, we address a very demanding public on an aesthetic level, so that in addition to having a quality shoe, this, attractive to a large public, we offer personalized, unique designs, so that everyone can find the footwear they are looking for.<\/p>\n

At Jos\u00e9 de Mora we are proud of our work, as well as of our town and our tradition, and we will continue working to create personalized, quality footwear that can compete in national and international markets for its unique, personalized designs, and to take the quality mark that we have achieved in our town as far as possible.<\/p>\n

We must thank the Provincial Association of the Footwear Industry (APICAL) for this good news, which has managed to protect this sector, and the Valverde del Camino Town Council, which has finally registered a quality regulation and a Quality Steering Council.<\/p>\n
